Learn how gift cards work and how your clients can use them for bookings.

What is a gift card?

A gift card is a digital card with a monetary value that your clients can purchase and then use to pay for any service. Each card has a unique code that clients enter when booking a service.

How does it work?

Purchasing a gift card

Gift cards can be created in two ways:

Online purchase on your booking page:

  1. Clients can purchase a gift card online directly on your booking page
  2. After successful payment, the client automatically receives an email with:
    • Unique card code
    • Current balance
    • Usage instructions, including a PDF file for printing
  3. The card is immediately active and ready to use

Manual creation by staff:

  1. Staff can create a gift card directly in the system
  2. When creating, they can set the price and value (value can be higher), as well as expiration date
  3. The card can be paid in cash on-site
  4. The client receives an email with the card code and information, including the option to print the card and give it as a gift

Using a gift card

When booking a service, the client:

  1. Selects the service and time
  2. Enters the gift card code in the gift card field
  3. The system automatically:
    • Verifies the validity of the card
    • Checks the available balance
    • Applies the balance to pay for the service
  4. If the balance is lower than the service price, the client pays the difference
  5. If the balance is higher or equal to the service price, the service is fully paid from the card, and the gift card can be used later for another purchase

Frequently asked questions

Can a client use a gift card multiple times?
Yes, the card can be used multiple times until the balance is depleted.

What happens when the balance is lower than the service price?
The client pays the difference using the payment method set on the service (card, cash, etc.).

What happens if the service requires a deposit payment in advance?
The balance on the gift card will be used to pay this deposit, meaning the customer won't have to pay by card when creating the appointment.

How do I find out the balance on a gift card?
The client can find out the balance by opening the card details from the confirmation email, having the current card status sent from the booking form (by entering their email after clicking "I forgot my card number"), or by contacting your business.
